In the laboratory of 2Effe Engineering there are two scanning electron microscopes that can obtain enlargement until 300.000X. In particular, one has a EDS micro-probe and the other makes photos directly in digital format.
With these instruments it is possible to make different kind of analyses:

- Micrographic observation of organic and inorganic surfaces
- Microfractographic examination to determine the type of fracture
- Measurement of surface coatings (copper-, nickel, chrome-plating, PVD, CVD)
- Examinations of polluting particles on filter membranes
- Detection of asbestos fibres for recovery of work areas
- Contrast observation of phase with back scattered electron detection
- Quality and partial quantity analysis with EDS micro-probe
- Mapping and distribution of elements for recognition of different phase with EDX micro-analysis

- Evaluation, identification and distribution of the inclusions
- Identification of corrosive elements
